Saint Guinefort was a brave French Greyhound who saved his noble master’s baby from a certain death from a dangerous snake. He was recognised by the locals as the saint for the protection of children and venerated in the Middle Ages. His popularity and large following so infuriated the Catholic church, that they destroyed all traces of his shrine. Despite this his legend has remained strong for hundreds of years. He is the only animal to be made a saint.
Saint Guinefort's feast day is celebrated on 22 August.

To help celebrate my fellow Greyhound, and with him also being the only actual dog saint, I have selected a range of my favourite treats, and put them into a great big box. So on his feast day all my fellow hounds can feast away on a bunch of healthy treats. I can’t wait to get chomping. Enjoy!
